Eibar are keen on a move for Everton striker Sandro Ramirez, with the Blues willing to let him go on a free transfer to get rid of his wages.
That’s according to Marca, who cover the Spanish side’s interest in the forward following reports yesterday that several sides were showing interest.
Mundo Deportivo claimed that Eibar had already made contact with Everton about a potential move but were facing competition from the likes of Huesca, Elche and Real Valladolid.
Marca pick up on the story and say that the club ‘has been interested’ in Ramírez’s situation, and he is one of the options they are looking at to strengthen their forward line.
They’re interested if they can get him on a free transfer and this is something Everton are willing to let happen, with it claimed they have a ‘desire’ to terminate his contract and will not put ‘many obstacles’ in the way of a departure.
That’s why Eibar see it as a ‘great opportunity’ to sign him, but a major obstacle is the player’s wages.
He currently earns €5m a year at Everton and would have to lower that price ‘considerably’ as the Spanish side are not willing to offer him more than a fifth of what he currently earns.
They are willing to put him among their best-paid players, but they will never be able to match his initial demands, so negotiations between the two are ‘far from being successful’ at this stage.
Eibar are not Sandro’s only offer, though, with Las Palmas also having made a bid and the player not ruling it out at this stage, suggesting he may wait to see who can give him the most money before deciding on his departure from Goodison Park.
