Everton and Crystal Palace are ‘keeping an eye’ on Marseille’s Iliman Ndiaye, who will be placed on the transfer list this summer if he continues to struggle.
That’s according to La Provence, who say the forward is being watched by the Premier League duo ahead of the summer.
Ndiaye joined Marseille in a €17m deal from Sheffield United in the summer after impressing for the Blades, particularly in their promotion campaign last season.
He left the club with a record of 22 goals and 14 assists in 88 games for the club but has been unable to replicate that in France so far, with just one goal and three assists in 25 games to date.
That’s not good enough and La Provence report he is more than aware of that, acknowledging that he ‘needs to do better’.
He and the club remain optimistic that he can do so but if he remains unsuccessful then a place on the ‘transfer list’ beckons in the summer.
That would be of interest to Everton and Crystal Palace, who are both ‘keeping an eye on him’ should he become available.
Everton’s interest is not surprising as they were also linked before he moved to Marseille last summer and then again in the January transfer window if he had been made available then.
Crystal Palace’s interest is somewhat new, but they face a summer of trying to keep Michael Olise once again and perhaps Ndiaye is being eyed as a replacement for him.
It’s a matter for the future, with the focus for the moment now on whether Ndiaye can improve in the next three months to succeed at the ‘club of his dreams’ and make up for the first half year that has failed to convince anyone.
