Everton look increasingly likely to miss out on the signing of Almería striker El Bilal Touré, with Atalanta’s offer beating the one made by the Toffees.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the Andalusian team ‘closes the agreement’ with the Italian side.
The newspaper reports that El Bilal Touré will be one of the most expensive transfers in the history of Almería, with Atalanta set to pay €33m for the striker.
According to their information, the Spanish club have received several offers for the player over the last month, but it is Atalanta who have ‘taken the lead’.
Their bid for the player is the best one and as a result general director Mohamed El Assy has rejected the others on the table, including one from Everton. The Blues’ bid ‘did not reach €30m’.
Thus, El Bilal Touré will be on his way to Serie A rather than the Premier League, where he will replace Rasmus Hojlund at Atalanta, with him in turn being linked to the likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain.
The belief is that El Bilal Touré has already said goodbye to his teammates in Spain, with a post on social media last night seen as a farewell.
The question now is where Everton turn next as they look to secure the striker their squad desperately needs.
