The name Sivert Mannsverk will mean very little to anyone outside of Norway, and even then, unless they watch the Norwegian second-tier, the 18-year-old will likely be an unknown entity.
There are some scouts, however, who are very aware of the promise shown by the midfielder, currently playing for Sogndal IL.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who explain Bologna, Lazio and Inter have taken notice in Italy, as well as Everton and Aston Villa in the Premier League.
All of these are a step behind Ajax and FC Groningen, though, as the two Eredivisie sides ‘have moved with official offers’.
It’s explained Everton and Aston Villa ‘have started to press’, suggesting they’re eyeing a potential move before the end of the months, and the whole thing is described as a ‘race against time for the clubs concerned’.
Inter are ‘ready to graft freshness and quality into their midfield, therefore representing a danger for Carlo Ancelotti and Dean Smith in the hunt for a player described as one ‘promising to be one of the best prospects in European football in the coming years’.
The ball is in Everton’s and Aston Villa’s court right now, and it seems like they might need to hurry up.
It’s also worth pointing out this isn’t the first time the Villans have been linked with Mannsverk, with an article from La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier this month reporting their interest.
