With a break in the domestic calendar around Europe for the international week, plenty of clubs have spare time on their hands over the next week or so.

And, rather than sitting around twiddling their thumbs, most of them have decided to head to the Netherlands for a two-day conference held by Wyscout.

The scouting network are holding an event for clubs to attend and, according to Tuttosport, Everton are among those in attendance.

The newspaper explains the event in the Dutch capital is a ‘sort of appetiser’ ahead of the winter transfer window, with nearly 130 club professionals and scouts attending.

Among these are some of the biggest in Europe, including Juventus, who are regulars at such events, and the likes of Barcelona, Ajax, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Everton, as well several other teams from the Premier League have headed over there to see what they can learn and, presumably, get some business done.

The newspaper doesn’t go as far as to suggest there are any clubs talking to each other, which they’d all keep a secret anyway, but it seems unlikely they won’t be using the opportunity.

Everton certainly should do so given their needs in January, and it will be interesting to discover if they end up signing anyone from the clubs who have all been named as attending this conference.
