On March 28th, Sport reported that Real Madrid are aware of Arsenal’s interest in Marco Asensio.
Three days later, the same outlet came out with another report stating the La Liga side are ready to open the door for the 26-year-old’s sale, should they receive a ‘good offer’.
His current deal expires in 2023 and his financial demands to sign an extension have not been satisfied so far by Los Blancos.
AC Milan are ‘serious’ about the attacking midfielder. That’s according to Sport Mediaset, who explain a ‘first summit’ between the two parties took place last week.
It’s claimed the Serie A side presented a ‘serious proposal’ to the Spain international and even received a response from those managing him.
“Milan’s interest is a pride, a future at Milan is an option. There are also offers from a couple of English clubs, including Arsenal, we are ready to evaluate every possibility,” a member of Asensio’s entourage said.
The player, although handling offers from Milan and Mikel Arteta’s side, has so far not made a decision on his future.
Asensio will only do so at the end of this season, when his role in the club’s new project is clear. He also plans to hold another round of talks with Florentino Pérez.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side, for their part, have offered the former Mallorca man a new deal that includes the same salary of €5m per year plus bonuses. The report states this was done with an intention to avoid losing him for free in 2023.
The Spanish giants want a response from Asensio before the season ends and if there isn’t one, they will ‘take into consideration’ any requests they will receive from abroad.
Real Madrid value him around €25-30m.
Milan are monitoring and are ready to pounce, if the stalemate between Asensio and Real Madrid continues. However, they are not alone, as Arsenal, who have apparently already made an offer, are in the picture to sign him.
