On March 25th, we covered claims from Italy that AC Milan view Liverpool as a ‘dangerous competitor’ in the chase for Ismaïla Sarr.

The Rossoneri looking at the Watford player, who has managed five goals and an assist from 17 league matches this season, is now reported by MilanLive.it.

Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio seems to the ideal candidate for the Serie A side, to bolster their right side of the attack. However, there are alternatives to the Spaniard, and among them is the Hornets winger.

Stefano Pioli’s side are not the only one looking at the ex-Rennes man as ‘eyes of other clubs are on him’, including the Reds. The website says the Merseyside club ‘seem to have plans to get serious’ for the Senegal international.

Calciomercato.it also have a report on Sarr and Liverpool get a mention. It’s claimed that Milan will face competition from several clubs, including Jürgen Klopp’s side, who have done polls for him in the past.

As per the report, the player would cost at least €30-40m, with some even suggesting the price tag will be set at €50m.

However, this figure will drop if the Hornets were relegated to the Championship. They are currently 19th in the table and are three points behind 17th placed Everton, who have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Sarr’s agent Thierno Seydi has admitted Watford are ready to let his client leave in the summer, if their conditions are satisfied.

“We have a good exit plan. In Watford’s strategy, if the offer is attractive, nothing will prevent him from leaving but where he will go, only the future will tell us. At this precise moment, there are rumours, interest, but really nothing concrete,” Seydi told APS.
