Germany’s Kicker reckon Bayern Munich are interested in Kyle Walker as a replacement for the retiring Philipp Lahm. Bayern’s technical director Michael Speschke travelled to England at the weekend to watch both FA Cup semi-finals, which is bound to lead to almost endless transfer claims.
Kicker say Tottenham defender Walker was on the agenda, and therefore could be a potential Lahm replacement. Walker has enjoyed an excellent couple of seasons for Tottenham, and has genuinely grown his game under the management of Mauricio Pochettino.
However, Kicker price a transfer at around €18m, which is obviously ridiculous. It’s not explained how they’ve come to that figure, but with 26 year old Walker having a contract lasting until 2021, even double the amount may not be enough to convince Tottenham on a summer transfer.
Given they’ve got the potential transfer fee so far off, it would have to be doubted whether Kicker genuinely know if Bayern are interested in Kyle Walker at all.
€18m? Never let the German sense of humour be questioned again.
