German magazine Kicker has today claimed Oliver Burke could leave Red Bull Leipzig this summer, with several English Premier League clubs interested in him. The forward has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace this summer.

Kicker journalist Oliver Hartmann has written about Marcel Sabitzer, describing the Austrian striker as a ‘bargain’, while he mentions Burke as his opposite.

According to Hartmann, Burke, who joined Leipzig last year for €15.2m, had ‘big deficits in his tactical understanding’, and he added the former Nottingham Forest player has not improved this season.

Despite the fact his contract ends in four years, he could still leave Leipzig before the window closes, with Crystal Palace thought to be an option for the former Nottingham Forest player.

Hartmann cites Leipzig’s sporting director Ralf Rangnick, who ruled out letting Burke go on out on loan. A lot of English clubs have enquired about Burke, but the only concrete interest shown has been from Crystal Palace.

Following their surprise defeat to Huddersfield Town on the opening day of the season, Crystal Palace could be looking to strengthen their squad before the window closes, and Burke could still be an option.

Rangnick doesn’t want to sell Burke at a loss, so Crystal Palace would to offer at least the same fee Leipzig paid Nottingham Forest last year, says Hartmann.
