Southampton have reportedly joined the race for Bas Dost. The Wolfsburg striker, who was close to joining Betis, has been attracting the attentionĀ of many other European clubs lately.
It’s not made clear what the nature of the offers is, whether it’s just an open offer to join, or an approach to the German club.
Although Wolfsburg want to start the negotiations at ā¬10m, El Desmarque says the talk in Germany is that ā¬7m should be enough to take the player from the club, since thereās only one year of contract left for him.
Bas Dost reportedly would like to play in La Liga, but his salary is a big issue for Betis: He wants to earn ā¬2m net per year, which is considered to be too high for the Spanish club.
The striker didnāt have a particularly good or particularly badĀ season in 2015/16, scoring 10 goals in 31 appearances for Wolfsburg.
