Cesare Casadei swapped Inter Milan for Chelsea in the summer and signed a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder is still waiting to make his senior debut for the club and is currently part of the Blues U21 side. So far, he has made nine appearances for them, managing four goals and an assist in the process.

Former Catania midfielder Mariano Izco visited the 19-year-old at Chelsea and gave his take on the club’s training facilities.

TuttoMercatoWeb interviewed Izco and when asked about the Chelsea youngster, he said: “I started talking to Casadei. Then I entrusted myself to Paolo Busardò, who did the operation. I met the boy and followed him there. For him, it is a dream. When I went to visit the Chelsea facilities, I was shocked.”

Graham Potter has not given the Italy U21 international opportunities at Chelsea and Izco is not surprised with this, because he claims the west London club have a plan for Casadei.

“In the meantime, he will learn the language. They don’t want to burn him, he trained with the first team. They want to make him grow. And then play for Chelsea, it’s a dream,” he added.

TMW don’t make it clear Izco’s relationship with the youngster, but the former midfielder had a direct role in Casadei’s move to Chelsea in the summer and this was revealed by the Argentine himself last month during an interview with TuttoCalcioCatania.

“I started my career as a sports agent with the Base Soccer agency. I was lucky enough to get right in with Cesare Casadei who went to Chelsea for €15m, I was in London with him, I started this journey in a great way and I hope to do well,” Izco said.
