Brighton and Hove Albion star Pascal Groß has admitted he is a big fan of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, but can’t see a move to Anfield happening at any point.

The German midfielder has been in fine form at the beginning of this campaign, with three goals and two assists in six games so far in the Premier League.

That means he’s already bettered his tally of two goals from last season and is halfway to matching his tally of four assists as well.

Two of his goals came in the opening day win over Manchester United, with the German playing a starring role in Brighton’s 2-1 victory and carrying on that form since.

That performance in particular led to rumours about a possible exit from Brighton before the end of the window, with claims in England that the likes of Liverpool were looking at the 31-year-old.

It seems, though, Groß doesn’t believe that it’s ever going to happen, taking a realistic approach when asked “Don’t you want to play for Klopp?”.

“I look from game to game. We are going a good way at Brighton,” he told Sport 1.

“I’m a normal, down-to-earth guy. And I’m happy where I am now. The Champions League is a dream, but you also have to look at what’s important to you.

“Maybe the daily routine at another club is not right and at Brighton everything is just right for me. I stand for consistency; the club has given me a lot and I want to achieve a lot more.

“I have a lot of respect for Jürgen Klopp. He is a coach that everyone looks up to.

“What he achieves in his clubs is breath-taking. But I’m realistic about that, too. I don’t think that will happen.”
