Rasmus Kristensen was one of the new faces to arrive at Elland Road in the summer as Leeds United signed him from Red Bull Salzburg.

Operating mainly on the right side of defence, he managed 10 goals and eight assists in all competitions for Salzburg last season. Jesse Marsch has used him as a right-back this term and he has made five starts for the Whites.

BT state the Denmark international left the Austrian champions for Leeds to challenge himself in a more competitive league. The defender believes his game will further improve as he gains more experience of playing in the Premier League.

You hang on tooth and nail to be able to keep up, and it moves you. I can also feel that on myself just from match one to match five. I think there has already been progress, and I think it will get better and better,” he said, as quoted by BT.

Kristensen had been prepared to adapt to the needs of English football but was left surprised when he stepped on the pitch with Leeds.

“Where I may have been a leader in terms of physique and intensity in Austria, it is levelled off on a completely different level now. It has also been a challenge for me to have to accept it,” the Dane explained.

“I felt I was well prepared for it, but it’s something else when you stand there. So, it’s been great to get started and find my place in it.”

Leeds’ last tie was against Brentford, and they suffered a 5-2 defeat. Marsch started Cody Drameh on the right side of the back four against the Bees as Kristensen missed the clash due to an injury.

“I’m completely ready. The last Leeds game was over two weeks ago, so I am completely ready [to play for Denmark],” the 25-year-old.
