Sevilla director of football Victor Orta is using Boubakary Soumaré’s desire to join the club to convince Leicester City into accepting his proposal for the player.

That’s according to Diario de Sevilla, who say the Leicester midfielder ‘has already convinced himself’ to join the Seville club and that ‘trick’ is the one Orta is playing in his negotiations with the Foxes.

He’s keen to add a defensive midfielder to his squad before the end of the window but has so far found Leicester resistant to the deals he has offered.

They would seemingly prefer to sell the player on a permanent basis and raise funds rather than sanction a loan deal, which Orta would prefer.

With Soumaré having made it clear he wants Sevilla, though, it appears he now wants to use that to his advantage and ‘try to wrestle’ a loan deal with a purchase option included.

Either way, Mundo Deportivo report that the Sevilla ‘try to accelerate’ their plans in the market in an attempt to repair the bad feeling from the club’s poor start to the season.

The Spanish side are bottom of the table without any points, the worst league start in their history, and the hope is new signings can repair some of the damage.

Adding defensive strength is key and Orta is determined to ‘close the loan’ of Boubakary Soumaré from Leicester. According to Mundo, the midfielder has made it clear he doesn’t want to continue after relegation to the Championship.

Manager Jose Luis Mendilibar ‘waits’ for new arrivals and Orta ‘must hurry’ to get him because of the poor feelings at the club, suggesting there is a busy week ahead for Leicester.
