Things are going well for Moses Simon in Belgium.

A couple of weeks ago, we covered an interview in Het Laatste Nieuws where the West Bromwich Albion target explained how great it was to finally have his wife alongside him at home, and how that had helped his form.

The 21-year-old also directly addressed the rumours sending him to the Hawthorns, with Monaco and Middlesbrough also said to be interested in his services.

With the latter of the three now relegated, it’s fair to say that destination is off the cards, but the other two remain a distinct possibility.

However, to acquire Moses Simon, West Brom and Monaco will have to shell out a rather heavy sum of around €20m.

That is, at least, what Gent’s director of football, Michel Louwagie, told Sport/Foot, relayed by VoetbalNieuws, this week.

He said: “I still think he’s worth €20m, and I’m glad I said that. Why can, in the Netherlands, they sell for amounts of €30m and we can’t? Where is Memphis Depay now. He moved from PSV to Manchester United with a lot of fanfare. AZ’s top scorer, Vincent Janssen, went to Tottenham to play a minute on th pitch.

“The trend is now reversed. Wilfred Ndidi in December (sold to Leicester), soon a few of the Anderlecht boys. Whoever wants our players has to pay. Do not underestimate our financial pressures.”

Whether Moses Simon is worth that kind of money remains to be seen, but with five goals and seven assists in 41 games this season from the wing, he’s certainly worth something to Gent.
