In the summer window, Liverpool allowed Fabian Mrozek to join IF Brommapojkarna on a loan deal until January 2025. The Reds confirmed the goalkeeper had signed a new deal before going out on loan to the Swedish club.
The 21-year-old immediately started to feature for Brommapojkarna after joining them from Liverpool. He made five appearances between July and August and conceded 12 goals in the process.
Since then, the Pole hasn’t made an appearance for Brommapojkarna, who played their last game of this season against Malmö FF earlier this month.
Earlier this month, we covered claims from Swedish press which stated Arne Slot’s side have decided to recall Mrozek. Brommapojkarna sporting director Philip Berglund has been speaking to Fotboll Direkt, where he also talked about the Liverpool man.
With the conclusion of the Swedish football season, Mrozek will return to Liverpool, and this has been confirmed by Berglund.
“He will stay at Liverpool. We were in a situation with some injuries and stuff in the summer when he arrived, and the initial plan has always been for him to return to Liverpool after the season. There’s nothing that has changed there,” he said.
Fotboll Direkt suggested to the director that it must be ‘remarkable’ for Brommapojkarna to sign a player from Liverpool.
Responding to that, Berglund explained: “Yes, exactly. But it’s not easy to break through there and getting game time as a young goalkeeper is extremely difficult. He got about five or six games here in the autumn and it’s been good for both parties.”
Mrozek, who arrived at the English club in 2020, is yet to make his debut for Liverpool’s first team.
