If we can take you back to last year for one second, you might remember that both Newcastle and Everton were after Sampdoria’s Dennis Praet.
The former Anderlecht star was of interest to both Rafa Benitez and Ronald Koeman to bolster their attack with a versatile midfielder, but, despite claims of offers and enquiries, nothing happened.
Why are we bringing this back up again, we here you ask.
Well, according to Corriere dello Sport, the 23-year-old has allegedly agreed to join Juventus in July, with the two clubs also settling on transfer terms.
The Italian newspaper bring up Everton’s and Newcastle’s past interest up again, and explain a desire to battle for the league as the reason why Praet, despite both Premier League sides pushing hard for his signature, didn’t agree to move to England.
A move to Juventus should, at some stage, allow him to achieve this particular goal, and there’s also the fact he’s actually quite happy living in Italy.
Praet has appeared 21 times for Sampdoria this season, picking up three assists along the way.
