According to Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Derby County manager Phillip Cocu wants to loan Fenerbahce attacking midfielder Ferdi Kadioglu until the end of the season.
Earlier this week we covered reports from Turkey that the Dutch U21 international is a transfer target for Cocu but claims yesterday said the Fenerbahce hierarchy want him to remain with the Super Lig club.
Fanatik say Derby County and Cocu will try their luck in the new year by preparing a loan offer for Kadioglu. Cocu believes this would be fantastic for the player’s development after playing just seven games for Fener this season.
A decision over Kadioglu will not be made until January, but Fanatik believe it’s unlikely the player will leave the Turkish club halfway through the season, given they are in the mix for the league title.
Cocu signed Kadioglu when he briefly managed Fenerbahce in 2018, but the 20 year old didn’t feature for him.
This season he’s broken into Ersun Yanal’s first team squad and has been performing well when given a chance.
