West Ham United are expected to make their newest signing official on Tuesday.
Portuguese newspaper Record says the Hammers are completing the transfer of Gonçalo Cardoso, who’s making a move from Boavista.
The outlet had already reported the player’s trip to London yesterday. They now say that during Monday, the defender had his medicals and is now sorting a few details of the move.
The Hammers are said to be paying €3m for the transfer, and Cardoso is expected to sign his deal with the London side today.
Record don’t seem to know the length of the contract, but given that Cardoso is still 18, the Hammers are likely to give him a long deal.
It’s been claimed by the newspaper that West Ham originally wanted the defender to join their youth squads, but after scouting him playing for Portugal, the club became convinced that he’s ready to be brought straight to the first team.
