On Wednesday, we covered claims from Spain that Tottenham Hotspur have made a firm effort to hijack Barcelona’s deal for Djurgårdens IF rising star Lucas Bergvall.

Later that day, Expressen reported the north London club have offered a ‘massive’ five-year deal to the midfielder, who will pick between Spurs and the La Liga side in the next few days.

Today’s Mundo Deportivo states Barca are intensively fighting with Tottenham to secure a deal for the 17-year-old.

Earlier this week, the Sweden international visited the Catalan club’s facilities and met their sporting director, Deco.

The Blaugrana have agreed a deal with Djurgårdens IF and Bergvall left Barcelona without confirming whether he’ll accept their offer. The report states this is because of Tottenham, who aren’t giving up on the youngster.

It’s claimed Spurs have ‘jumped in’ to sign the midfielder, with a promise that he’ll join their first team ‘now’. Barca, on the other hand, plan to send him to their youth team first and then promote him to their senior team next season.

Mundo say Ange Postecoglou’s side want to take him away from Barcelona and ‘sign him now’.

Jijantes FC journalist Carlos Monfort took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to claim Tottenham are going with everything to acquire the Swede’s signature.

He adds Bergvall’s agent met Deco and then travelled to London, more likely to meet Tottenham, yesterday.

Spurs are pushing to sign the Djurgårdens IF teenager and Monfort says these are ‘decisive hours’ with regards to Bergvall’s future.
