Galatasaray defender Davinson Sanchez has spoken ahead of tomorrow’s Europa League clash with Tottenham Hotspur and was asked about rumours of a possible transfer to either Real Madrid or Napoli.
Since joining the Turkish side from Tottenham during the 2023 summer window the Colombian has impressed, helping Cimbom to the Super Lig title last season.
Sports Digitale have covered comments Sanchez has made in today’s press conference ahead of his club’s clash with Spurs. Asked about links with Real Madrid and Napoli, the 28-year-old said he must be something right if he’s getting attention from other clubs.
However, he confirmed his focus is currently on Galatasaray despite speculation he was also being followed during the last window.
“This is speculation. It’s always talked about. I focused on Galatasaray. Such news appeared in the summer as well. It’s nice that there’s interest, it shows that we’re working well. Whether there is interest or not is something to think about when it comes later. I am in Galatasaray with my mind and soul,” said the central defender.
Quizzed about the game against his former club, Sanchez said he’s prepared his Galatasaray teammates for what they can expect from a team like Tottenham.
“We’re going to play against a big team. I can give my teammates a ‘serious’ warning,” said the Colombian.
Both clubs have made solid starts to their Europa League campaigns with Tottenham currently 2nd in the table and Galatasaray in 5th.
Gala will be hoping home advantage will be a major factor tomorrow tonight with Spurs expected to face a hostile crowd in Istanbul.
