There’s a Leroy Sané pattern developing at the moment. The German media will every now and again link some Premier League clubs, only to then insist the player’s priority right now is securing a renewal with Bayern Munich.
It feels like an attempt from the player’s agents to give continual nudges to the Bundesliga side, although those nudges don’t appear to be doing the trick just yet.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Arsenal are closely monitoring the situation, just in case Leroy Sané fails to reach a renewal agreement with Bayern Munich.
His contract expires at the end of June and despite January, and the chance to discuss a free transfer with other clubs, now being just around the corner, there appears no panic whatsoever.
That could be why Premier League clubs, such as Arsenal, continue to be dragged in. Manchester United are also named by Plettenberg.
Securing a free agent who will be 29-years-of-age to a massive contract isn’t something which looks to be in the transfer mould either Arsenal or Manchester United are aspiring to.
That could also be holding Bayern back from committing, hence the continual media claims of interest from elsewhere.
