Earlier in October, we covered a report from Mundo Deportivo, who claimed Christian Eriksen’s agent is aware of Real Madrid’s interest in his client, while Tottenham Hotspur were preparing an ‘important’ offer for him.
The Denmark international’s contract with the Premier League outfit runs down in 2020 and so far, no deal has been agreed between the two parties.
He’s currently part of the national squad preparing for the upcoming fixtures against Wales and Republic of Ireland and often, when players are on international duty, they get asked about their future.
This is what happened with the former Ajax man, and Danish publication BT have comments from the 26-year-old regarding his contract situation with his current employer.
BT asked Eriksen if he feels contract negotiations are leading to less minutes at Tottenham, and he said: “You must ask the coach about that. I don’t know that.”
With just over 18 months left on his current deal, one of Mauricio Pochettino’s star men does not feel that his future at the north London club is under any sort of threat.
“I have not felt that they would throw me out yet [says with a big smile]. It’s a business for the club, but it’s not something I’ve thought about,” the Dane explained.
