On May 10th, it was claimed Manchester United were close to agreeing a deal to sign Daniel James from Swansea City for £15m.
At the time, Sport Witness spoke to a source close to the potential transfer who made it clear a deal wasn’t as close as was being reported.
There was certainly interest in the player, which is understandable given what the 21 year old has shown so far, yet the message was that things were getting ahead of themselves.
Information on no deal being agreed was also fed to the BBC and local Welsh media.
Today the claims have again appeared, pretty similar to last time, and now the response sounds more favourable on a potential transfer.
The same source has told Sport Witness the reports are ‘premature’, which is clearly different. It was also explained that whilst Manchester United have made an approach, they’re not the only club to have done so.
Of course, it makes sense for the player’s camp to keep the possibility of a move elsewhere open until everything is fully agreed.
