Curious Tottenham transfer situation, agent ‘aware of wider interest’ in player

 

Poor Martin Schoots. The agent of Christian Eriksen probably thought that shooting down Barcelona rumours would be the end of all the nonsense, but it’s seen an eyebrow raise for Catalan newspaper Sport.

The Eriksen to Barcelona rumour, the most recent one anyway, was started by an English newspaper, and quickly pretty much dismissed in Spain. In Denmark the media got overly excited and continued to hype the idea, with the agent of the Tottenham star then, more or less, telling them to calm down.

Those comments have made it to Sport, who quote Schoots talking a transfer down, and talking up the player’s commitment to Tottenham, but tag on at the end that Schoots is ‘aware of wider interest’ in the player.

To be fair to Sport, that’s all they can really come up with, and Eriksen to Barcelona is dying a death, albeit a very prolonged death.

It’ll be no worry for Tottenham and Mauricio Pochettino, or even a distraction for Christian Eriksen, they’ve all seen it all before.
