Not long ago, we used to say it was William Carvalho who had the impressive ability to be linked to most of the Premier League’s clubs. But it seems his midfield partner Adrien Silva is now putting up some competition.
After rumours of moves to Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and West Brom, the player has two new admirers, according to today’s O Jogo… Crystal Palace and West Ham have joined the race.
Despite only mentioning West Brom and Crystal Palace in their headline, West Brom are also added to the list, but all these clubs are being blocked by Sporting’s demands.
The Portuguese club want €30m for Silva, and no one wants to pay that. The latest bid came from Tottenham, who reportedly offered €20m, and despite Sporting’s expectations for the London side to raise their figures, they’ve never done it.
Regardless of the midfielder’s wish to make a Premier League move, Sporting would be happy to have him in their Champions League squad for next season. So this rumour will continue, until someone finally accepts to pay what the Lisbon club are demanding.
Will that be Crystal Palace or West Ham? Don’t hold your breath.
