On January 24th, we covered claims from Het Laatste Nieuws that Crystal Palace want to sign Yannick Carrasco on loan from Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.
Three days ago, Foot Mercato explained the Eagles are the ‘only serious’ option for the Belgium international, who remains keen on returning to Europe in the winter market.
According to the Belgian newspaper, the winger’s name was discussed at Crystal Palace at the start of the week, but his signing was discarded by manager Roy Hodgson. It’s claimed the London club’s boss ‘was not convinced’.
Even though Palace decided against signing Carrasco, he will be able to fulfil his wish of returning to the continent as it’s reported Atlético Madrid are set to take him on loan.
Carrasco spent less than three seasons with the La Liga side before joining Dalian Yifang in 2018.
