According to claims in the Turkish media, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United sent scouts to Turkey at the weekend.
It’s reported Beskitas forward Cenk Tosun is still on the radar for both Crystal Palace and Newcastle after the two Premier League sides tried to land the player in the last window.
Fotomac have reported, via BJK, that officials from both Crystal Palace and Newcastle United were present in Istanbul on Friday night to watch the World Cup qualifier between Turkey and Iceland.
It’s been suggested Tosun was on the agenda of both clubs, but the Beskitas star failed to shine during his country’s 3-0 defeat.
During the last window we covered reports from Turkey that Crystal Palace and Newcastle United tabled bids for Tosun, but were unsuccessful in their attempts to bring the player to England.
Newcastle United were reported to have offered Beskitas £8m, whilst Crystal Palace were willing to pay £10.
Crystal Palace came in with an improved bid of £12.5m on deadline day, but the Turkish side were unwilling to sell because they couldn’t find a replacement in time.
