Despite Jérémie Boga being very happy at Sassuolo where he has finally found stability, the amount of interest in the Ivory Coast international means the Serie A club can’t ignore it.
Wanting around €40m or so for the player, the Italians know they could lose their star this summer, especially if a Premier League club go ahead and confirm their interest.
Last week saw Southampton thrown into the mix, and this week it’s Crystal Palace.
The interest makes sense, especially with talk of Wilfried Zaha potentially leaving Selhurst Park at some point in the future, and Boga would certainly fill the gap left by his national teammate.
Gazzetta dello Sport explain in an article that while everything has remained pretty much the same regarding the former Chelsea starlet (with Napoli unable to meet demands for now), ‘the only news is an enquiry from Crystal Palace’.
That’s not much, but it’s a sign the Eagles are looking around the continent for potential attacking reinforcements down the wings, and they’ve gone with a very in-demand name.
It shows their ambition, but we’ll have to wait and see if anything more comes from that in the near future.
