A few weeks ago, the Italian media highlighted Crystal Palace’s interest in Lazio midfielder Daichi Kamada.
It was said the Eagles are ‘seriously trying‘ to sign him, as his contract with the Serie A side allows him to be a free agent this summer.
Today, Il Messaggero, relayed by La Lazio Siamo Noi, brings back Crystal Palace interest, claiming they’ve ‘already made contact’ with Kamada.
The Serie A side are still hopeful that he’ll stay at the club, though. For that to happen, he only needs to accept the clause for a three-year extension, and director Angelo Fabiani claims that is happening.
“He doesn’t have to tell us anything in advance, but exercise his three-year option on May 30th. The entourage has assured us that he will remain at 100%, but we can’t know if he will change his mind at the end. We wait.”
The decision must be made before May 30th, and there’s a bit of a tense atmosphere about that. If he was 100% staying then the clause could have been used by now, that it has not been shows there’s still hope for Crystal Palace and others.
