There’s been belief in Italy over the past couple of days that Inter Milan will complete Christian Eriksen’s transfer, but the deal to sign the Tottenham Hotspur playmaker hasn’t been concluded yet.
Following negotiations on Monday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported on January 21st that a second conference call was expected to take place on Tuesday.
FcInterNews now brings the latest update as they claim there was new contact between the Serie A side’s management and the player’s agent, Martin Schoots, on Tuesday evening. The representative has been in London for the past 40 hours.
It’s claimed there’s will to close the deal quickly, most likely during this week. Schoots has reassured those involved that the deal is not at risk, and his client cannot wait to fly to Milan to join the Nerazzurri.
Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta continues to normally negotiate a deal with Levy. The Spurs isn’t ready to lower his demands of €20m, which is why the San Siro side will make up that figure with bonuses, without increasing their upfront payment of €15m.
Tottenham host Norwich City on Wednesday and the clash could be Eriksen’s final game for the north London club. After that, he could land in Milan to undergo a medical and sign a contract with Inter.
FcInterNews end their report by stating ‘The countdown has started’ on Eriksen’s move to Inter.
