AS Monaco’s Vanderson has told Trivela that he’s delighted to be linked with a move to Manchester United.
The right-back joined the Ligue 1 side from Grêmio in January 2022 and the Red Devils have been credited with an interest in him for over a year. It started with a claim from Sport last August, and these reports cropped up this summer as well.
Back in June, claims from Spain stated the 22-year-old had some sort of approach from Manchester United, and that they were ready to compete with Barcelona to secure his services.
Erik ten Hag’s side finished the window without bringing in a new right-back while the La Liga club signed João Cancelo on loan from Manchester City on deadline day.
When further pressed on what it means to him to be linked to these two clubs, Vanderson explained: “It’s cool. Knowing that even if it’s nothing definitive, knowing that the work is recognised, even if it’s not so official, but it’s cool. The biggest clubs in the world, everyone knows. It’s great to know that your name is mentioned in big clubs.”
Trivela pointed it out to the South American that he would be well suited to the Premier League, and then asked if he dreams of making a switch to England.
Responding to that, the defender said: “Yeah. It’s a great league. Everybody knows. I have goals of maybe after a great career here at Monaco, a change too.
“But today is about defending the colours of Monaco. Not much to talk about. We have personal goals to achieve in Europe. It’s letting it happen. Work and soon what you dreamed of can happen. But today, it’s the colours of Monaco.”
