France’s Telefoot report that Jordan Amavi to Sevilla is edging closer. The Spanish club have been linked with Amavi for a while, but had wanted to sign the fullback for far less than Aston Villa were preapred to accept.
A week ago, Spanish newspaper Marca reported a €6m offer from Sevilla had arrived at Aston Villa, but it wasn’t close enough to the Championship club’s asking price.
Then PSG were linked with the player, and whilst Telefoot report that Parisian interest hasn’t made it to the offer stage, it may well have given Sevilla a nudge to make a bigger effort.
Amavi has reached a ‘contractual agreement’ with Sevilla, report Telefoot. That means personal terms have been agreed, but Sevilla are still left to fix a fee with Aston Villa for the player.
A figure of €10m is once again pushed forward as a possible fee, and that seems more than fair from Aston Villa. Indeed, the club could likely get more if they’re determined to hold out and push Amavi towards the highest bidder.
