As has been reported over the past few days, Sofyan Amrabat appears to be on his way to Tottenham, at least for the next few months.
Having discarded the idea of working with Tanguy Ndombélé, Antonio Conte wants a replacement, which is why the Morocco international was chosen.
The ideal man, per some reports, would have been Weston McKennie, but that idea was rejected by Juventus, who want to keep the American, so the Fiorentina midfielder was targeted instead.
A loan with an option to buy set at around €15m has been in the works for the past few days, and now Corriere Fiorentino bring the latest.
They state the player has now become a ‘mere redundancy’ at Fiorentina, never managing to live up to his €20m+ transfer fee, but now, ‘barring surprises, he will end up at Tottenham’.
The problem is just that, the Frenchman, whose exit is key to the arrival of Amrabat and is ‘blocking’ the move for the Fiorentina player.
The deal is said to be an ‘onerous loan of €1.5m with the right of redemption of €15m’, and ‘the agreement has been reached’ between the two clubs.
As for the player, he’s ‘more than happy with the next destination’, but is forced to wait for now, which is exactly what Conte is also doing, ‘waiting for him at Tottenham’.
