Tottenham Hotspur ‘try’ to sign Atlético Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco before the window closes on Thursday.
That’s according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to state there are ‘real discussions ongoing’ to bring the 28-year-old to the north London club.
Tavolieri explains Antonio Conte is pushing Tottenham to secure the former AS Monaco man’s services. At the same time, the player seems to be open to the move as he would ‘like to discover’ the Premier League.
Spurs wanting Diego Simeone’s man has also been reported in the UK. These claims have reached the Spanish press, with Marca giving the La Liga side’s take on this case.

The Belgium international has two years left on his deal, a contract which includes a €60m release clause.
Los Rojiblancos have denied having any negotiations with Spurs for Carrasco and they don’t contemplate his exit in the last day of the window.
It’s said the only scenario in which Tottenham or another club can sign the player is by triggering his clause.
Although his exit is not contemplated at Atlético, Marca explain ‘there is the possibility that Tottenham pay the €60m’ for Carrasco.
Time will tell…
