It’s been a while since we covered anything Leeds United and Nahitan Nández related, with his participation in the Copa América likely to have something to do with that.
With the player now off duty and likely enjoying some holidays, matters can continue, which is exactly what Corriere dello Sport are suggesting is going on.
The newspaper have a short update on the talks between the Elland Road side and their Italian counterparts, explaining that ‘contacts are continuing’ between the Sardinia based club and Leeds.
As things stand, no discounts have been made by the Serie A side, and ‘the knot’ in the negotiations remains how the release clause will be paid.
Nández has a €36m clause in his contract, and previous reports suggested there was some leniency from the Italians in that it could be paid in two instalments.
Leeds, however, were trying to get that figure down a bit, which doesn’t appear to be something Cagliari want to consider right now.
