Jose Mourinho moving to Fenerbahce means that multiple of his former players will now be linked with the Turkish club.

It’s no surprise that Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku has been one of those, with claims already talking up a move to the Super Lig. On top of that, two Tottenham Hotspur players have also been linked with the club.

First it was Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, which was no surprise given he’s been linked to half of Europe.

The second was rather more eyebrow raising.

Son Heung-min is said to be of interest to Fenerbahce, and those claims were hyped on Wednesday. That’s obviously caused a big fuss in the Turkish media, where any claims like this can cause a lot of excitement.

In response, Turkey’s Sport Digitale somehow contacted Tottenham chief Daniel Levy, and he’s completely rubbished the transfer claims.

Sport Digitale quote him as saying: “Son Heung-min to Fenerbahce is a complete lie.”

Of course, Levy can’t speak of any interest Fenerbahce may have but it’s clear he’s not aware of it, and it doesn’t sound like he’d be ready to listen either.

That should be that, but don’t be surprised if further Tottenham players are linked.
