Brighton & Hove Albion are today linked to an Italian footballer, although he’s not expected to play for the Seagulls if he joins them.

We’re talking about Antonio Junior Vacca, who currently plays for Foggia, and is expected to retire at the end of the season.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, the midfielder is studying to become a manager, and as he holds a great relationship with Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, he’s expected to join the English club in the summer.

The duo worked together at Foggia back in 2016 and now plan to reunite at the Seagulls, where the coach wants Vacca to be one of his assistants.

As outlet Tutto Potenza also covers the story, they point out that the player is attending the Cambridge Academy to learn English before making the switch.

It’s pointed out that Vacca and De Zerbi ‘speak and see each other quite frequently’, and it will now just take a few months until the midfielder puts his career to an end to start a new adventure at Brighton.
