Turkish newspaper Milliyet report Galatasaray have opened talks to sign Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina and once again it’s claimed they’ve offered €8m to sign the player permanently.
We previously covered claims from Turkey which stated Gala don’t want to pay the €16m redemption fee previously agreed, and are looking for the Premier League side to lower the asking price.
However, Milliyet say as it stands Southampton aren’t keen to sell the player for €8m, but this could all change in the summer transfer window.
The midfielder is also said to be very happy at Galatasaray and he wants to continue his career with the Turkish champions. He’s become a key player under Gala manager Faith Terim and the Turkish coach is keen to keep him beyond this season.
Galatasaray have already started planning to raise some funds to sign Lemina with reports suggesting they are looking to sell two of their highest earners this summer in Younes Belhanda and Sofiane Feghouli.
Lemina’s contract with Southampton will expire at the end of June 2022.
