One of the stars of the Eredivisie two seasons in a row, Hirving Lozano’s future is going to be one of the big stories of the summer.
Over in Italy, the Mexican is widely touted as being on Napoli’s transfer wishlist, with Carlo Ancelotti seeing him as the ideal man to help kickstart a new era, as the likes of Dries Mertens and José Callejon find themselves on the wrong side of 30.
Not expected to be too expensive, Lozano has also been linked with Manchester United, who are in desperate need of a right-winger for next season, where the Mexico international has played a number of times in the past.
Over in Italy, Gonfialarete decided to have a chat with Marco Garcés, the director of football of his former club, Pachuca, to see if he could clarify the situation.
He said: “I can’t say anything exact on Hirving’s future, as he will have to decide with his attorney and his family who I know have always been influential in his decisions.
“Who will be his next team? What I can tell you regarding Manchester United is that I definitely know that they hold him in high regard, and not just recently. They have known the player for many years, and not just from his time at PSV. They know exactly the level he can reach”.
As Garcés points out, the decision will ultimately be Lozano’s, but this bodes well for all the Manchester United fans dreaming of seeing the Mexican at Old Trafford at some point in the near future.
This comes after a report last week that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had ‘immediately’ asked his board to sign the Mexican for next season.
