Today, Italian website Il Romanista features a piece where they list five midfielders who Roma could sign next summer. They all play abroad, and would have to be attracted by José Mourinho and Tiago Pinto to move to the Serie A side.

Now from all the names mentioned, there’s one which is by far the most surprising. That’s Chelsea’s Jorginho.

The outlet points out it’s ‘legitimate’ to find it weird that such a star is in that list. However, they point out that ‘from what they say in London’, the midfielder isn’t accepting the Blues’ offers for a contract extension, and that could be a boost for Roma.

It’s claimed that Jorginho ‘would be interested in a new adventure’, and that could be a return to the Serie A, where he previously shined for Napoli.

It’s said Jorginho ‘is the perfect profile of the player requested by Mourinho’, and Roma are ‘at the window’ for his signing.

The problem is that they’d face some strong local competition for his arrival, since Juventus, who have ‘solid friendship’ with his agent, are also interested in the 31-year-old.
