Christian Eriksen’s contract at Tottenham Hotspur is set to expire in 2020.
Marca earlier reported chairman Daniel Levy has already commissioned an agent he trusts to find a new club for the player in the winter transfer window.
On October 14th, AS explained the 27-year-old will be willing to join Real Madrid in January, if Los Blancos meet his salary demands.
The same newspaper now claims the 13-time European champions will not sign the Denmark international or any other player in January.
AS states this is a ‘firm decision’, which has been taken by club chief Florentino Pérez, who doesn’t want to ‘waste time and money’ in January.
It’s claimed the La Liga side would only consider bringing in a new player at the start of next year if any of their current players pick up a long-term injury or if they are provided with an opportunity for an unexpected transfer.
As of now, they are not contemplating either of the two scenarios.
With Real Madrid’s latest stance, Tottenham will be forced to find another club for Eriksen, if they want to make any profit from his sale in January.
