Everton are looking to sign Belgian star Axel Witsel this summer, and have already agreed a fee of €30m with Zenit, according to reports in the Italian media.
Witsel, however, wants to play in the Champions League, and is waiting for an offer from Juventus.
Everton have reportedly offered a lot of money to the player also, but he has rejected them up to now.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday, Juventus are interested in signing Witsel should they fail to sign Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic.
It is reported Witsel is likely to cost around €23m, and wants to switch to Italy.
Gazzetta say Juventus should be wary of Everton, who can pay a lot of money for Witsel.
The Italian newspaper says Everton would ideally want to close the transfer soon, as more clubs are expected to enter the race to sign Witsel.
That makes little sense because several Italian clubs have already tried to sign Witsel over the past 12 months, and failed. There must a reason moves keep failing, and it’s likely down to money.
