Having seemingly found the perfect deal to get the most out of the hiccup that was Patrick Cutrone’s transfer from Milan, Wolverhampton Wanderers are now scratching their head about what to do with him.
Following a rather poor first six months at the Molineux, the Italian striker was sent on loan to Fiorentina for 18 months in hope he would return to his former self and allow them to make a profit with a clause allowing the Serie A side to purchase him.
This dream move, however, has since turned into a nightmare, with multiple claims Cutrone will now need to find himself a new club in January to stop his career from spiralling any further.
Neither Beppe Iachini nor Cesare Prandelli have trusted the forward this season, but there is one club where he would be ‘ideal’.
That’s according to Italian journalist Alberto Cerruti, who writes on Tuesday for Milan News that a return to Milan could be the best scenario for all parties.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic reaching the (very) back end of his career, ‘there is an absolute need for an alternative up front’.
That’s where the Wolverhampton Wanderers man comes in, as he believes Cutrone ‘would have a mad desire to rebuild himself at his Milan’, and ‘would be ideal’.
We’ll have to see if it’s something the Italian club would consider, but he would fit their new approach of signing younger players as he’s still only 22.
