Serie A side Juventus continue considering many targets for their desire to sign a midfielder this summer, and it seems that two Premier League players are top of their list.
According to Tuttosport, it’s Nemanja Matic and Emre Can who are the priorities for the Old Lady, with the Liverpool midfielder being more likely for two reasons: his age and his contract.
Can’s deal with Liverpool expires next year, and despite the English club’s effort to extend it, they could find themselves in a situation where they lose him for free at the end of the season.
That’s why Juve are prepared to make a low bid of €25m, knowing that Liverpool want €35m to sell.
Matic’s situation is a bit different. Rated at €40m, he has his Chelsea contract expiring in 2019.
That’s why Juve only expect his price do be dropped next year, even though there have been contacts with one of his agents, Giuseppe Riso. The Italian club are just waiting for the right opportunity to give it a shot, and with the player being left out of the squad’s preseason trip to China, that could be now.
