A few days ago Calciomercato  reported a €10m approach from Newcastle United for Pol Lirola.

The Spanish right back is owned by Juventus and is spending this season on loan at Sassuolo, and it was reported Newcastle’s offer was met with a flat refusal.

Juventus had no intention to sell the player, according to the claims, so Newcastle United would have to look elsewhere.

Well, things have changed quickly because Tuttosport report on Sunday that Juve are considering selling the player.

Newcastle United interest is referenced, even if a move within Italy is considered the likelier outcome.

Sassuolo are now considering signing the player themselves on a permanent deal and discussing an Alvaro Morata type transfer with Juventus.

When Morata moved from Real Madrid to Juventus, the Spanish club had a right to buy the striker back and used that, and that’s the plan which tempts Juve.

Newcastle United could offer a similar deal if they wish, which would surely help them fight Italian competition for the 20 year old.
