Olympiacos are currently looking for alternatives to Kostas Fortounis after the 27 year old ruptured his knee ligaments during preseason.

The midfielder has previously been linked with the Greek Super League club in this transfer window.

It’s reported Fortounis will be out of the action for at least six months and Sdna.Gr claim the club have identified Nottingham Forest’s Joao Carvalho as a target.

However, the Championship side don’t want to let him join the Greek side and will do want they can to keep hold of the player.

According to the Greek website, recently installed Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi sees Carvalho as an important part of his squad for next season and wants to keep him at the club as they look to get promotion to the Premier League.

The Portuguese playmaker is also battling with injury at the moment and Sdna.Gr report the Greek club may have to look elsewhere to find Fortounis’ replacement.

The 22 year old played 38 games for Nottingham Forest last season and scored 4 goals. He’s under contract at City Ground until June 2023.
