Just like André Silva, someone somewhere will, without fail, link Lazio’s Wallace to Wolverhampton Wanderers at least once in a transfer window.

It happened last summer when Il Messaggero claimed the centre-back could be ‘redirected’ to Molineux before Corriere della Sera did the same in January, claiming a €6-7m fee.

Well, Il Tempo are the culprits this time around, and they seem extremely definitive about the whole thing.

Hidden amid a bunch of other claims, it’s stated Wallace is ‘closer to an exit’ and he will ‘end up’ at Jorge Mendes’ Wolverhampton.

The fee discussed here is €6m, split up into €4m up front and €2m in bonuses.

They don’t even hint who the main influence behind this move could be, should it actually finally take place. They just outright claim the club belongs to the Portuguese super agent these days.

While that isn’t technically true, there’s no denying the influence Mendes has had over the past 24 months or so at Wolverhampton Wanderers, which, mixed with Nuno Espirito Santo’s great work on the training ground and from the dugout, has proven a fantastic boost to the club.

It seems another addition could be on its way, then.
