Although Gonzalo Higuain’s stay at Chelsea beyond the end of the season looks more and more unlikely, there’s still some hope about it coming from Italy.
Website Calcio Mercato brings a story today saying Juventus already knew about the possibility of Chelsea being banned from registering players, so they knew the risk they would be taking by sending the striker on a loan deal.
Things weren’t looking good already due to Higuain’s form and the unlikely continuation of Maurizio Sarri in charge of the club, but still, the Old Lady want to wait and see what will really happen with the striker.
Calcio Mercato says Juventus will wait for the verdict to see if Chelsea could keep the Argentine in the squad for next season, since the Blues have the option to extend the loan for a further year or to sign the player permanently.
Calcio Mercato says Chelsea were the only option Juve had in January to offload the player, since he really wanted to leave Milan and no one was keen on paying his full wages.
That’s why they took the risk of sending him to the Blues, even though they know about the problems that could come. The hope now is that Higuain finds some good form in the final fixtures of the Premier League, so he can at least keep his market value.
