According to a claim in the Turkish media Fenerbahce are looking to close a deal for West Bromwich Albion forward Salomon Rondon after reports in the English press he may not be returning to Newcastle United.
The Turkish side have been linked with the West Brom player in the past week and Aksam say there’s ‘a great possibility’ the Venezuela international will be heading to the Super Lig in this transfer window.
Fener have made it one of their priorities to bring in a No.9 this summer after the departures of Roberto Soldardo and Islam Slimani.
Rondon spent last season on loan with the Magpies and has been linked with a return to St James’ Park. However, there are reports West Brom have rejected their proposal, and that’s prompting the Turkish excitement.
It’s claimed Fenerbahce will offer West Brom up to €4m to loan the forward for a season and are hoping to convince him with a lucrative contract. Their optimism may be misplaced.
